Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 13, 2026.

This Privacy Policy describes how The Hopeful Paws Project (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use hopefulpawsproject.org and related application services (the “Services”).

Information we collect

How we use information

We use information to operate the Services, evaluate eligibility, communicate status updates, coordinate with approved veterinary clinics as permitted by your submissions, maintain security, comply with law, and document decisions through audit trails.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that assist us in hosting or email delivery, bound by confidentiality obligations. Applicant income documentation and full application details are intended for staff review workflows unless we explicitly provide a different sharing mechanism as part of program operations.

Data retention

Consistent with program integrity and accountability, we retain records on a long-term / perpetual basis, including application decisions, audit logs, and uploaded materials, except where we are legally required to do otherwise.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Your choices

You may request reasonable access updates where permitted by law. Because records support assistance decisions, deletion may not be available for records required to document program activity.

Children’s privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
